VisitorLog.io is a free visitor management system built for facilities that need to know exactly who is on site, when they arrived, and when they left.
Why I Built This
I built VisitorLog because the visitor management tools I evaluated were either too expensive for small and mid-size facilities or too basic to meet real compliance requirements. The enterprise platforms charge per-user fees that make no sense when your front desk just needs to know who walked in. The free tools are sign-in sheets with a login page.
VisitorLog sits in between. It gives every facility QR code check-in, real-time notifications, badge printing, self-service kiosks, security screening, audit trails, and a full REST API. The free tier is not a stripped-down demo — it covers up to 3 facilities and 300 users with no feature gates on the core platform.
The platform maps to physical security controls required by CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171, HIPAA, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, and PCI DSS. Each organization gets its own isolated database — not row-level filtering on a shared database, but a physically separate SQLite file that no other tenant can access.
